United States Supreme Court Holds LGBTQ Rights Protected Under Title VII

The United States Supreme Court held this month that the protections of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 extend to protect against discrimination against individuals based on sexual orientation or identity, i.e. those of gay or transgender status. The decision, Bostock v. Clayton County Georgia, will expand the scope of Title VII, which is the federal statute that protects against discrimination in the workplace.
