Governor Murphy Signs Earned Sick and Safe Days Act

New Jersey has become the 10th state to require employers to provide paid sick leave for workers. According to New Jersey Gov. Murphy, who recently signed the Earned Sick and Safe Days Act, “New Jersey joins nine states and the District of Columbia in providing paid sick leave. We are continuing to prove that economic progress cannot be made without social progress.” The law is set to go into effect on October 30, 2018, or upon the expiration of a collective bargaining agreement (CBA) currently in effect for unionized workers, whichever is later.
